The Author

Hi, I'm Bobby. I am a 30-something guy living in California, and like to write as a pastime. This blog is a creative culmination of my ideas about life, inspiration, business concepts, and everything that I've collected in my time on this planet. Although I work during the day in the Software and Tech industry (you can find more about that here at www.bobbybhatt.com), I find writing to be a creative outlet for my thoughts. As a writer, I'm new to the whole concept of blogging and writing, but within my thoughts you can find some powerful concepts that may help you in your journey through life.

Although I primarily write about inspiring ideas (self improvement, common consciousness, etc), I also dabble in concepts related to business and social relationships. One of my passions is to write a book that may one day be used to improve the way companies operate, hire employees, retain customers, and succeed in general. If you find such topics interesting, please read on. You can also contact me for business opportunities at www.makertechnologies.com. Thank you.

Why FourHundredPercent?

I'd like to tell you a story John Lennon once told, about an event in his life. The story goes like this: John was 5 years old, and enrolled in what we would consider a 'traditional' school with 'traditional' learning methods. John, however, was anything but 'traditional'. As a kid, he liked to play pranks on others, draw weird pictures, and was often told he should have gone to art school because of his immense artistic talent. By the time he was 4, his parents had separated and his mother had become the influential person in his life (along with his aunt Mimi). His mother used to tell him that she wanted John to be happy, and that it was the "key to Life". One day, John's class was given an assignment at school. The assignment was for the kids to describe what they wanted to be as adults. John wrote that he wanted "to be happy". Upon reading John's response, his teachers told him that he didn't understand the assignment, to which John responded and said that they, the ones teaching him, didn't understand Life. Exactly 15 years later, he proved them wrong by launching the Beatles, the most famous (to this day) band in the world, and brought happiness to the lives of untold millions with his music. (read more about John Lennon's journey). I want to bring joy into the world like John Lennon did with his music. His understanding of the important things in life, from and early age, is inspiring to me. But sometimes I feel like I must have been one of those teachers in a previous life, because I woke up one day and realized I didn't know how life worked. Ok, it wasn't a specific day when it happened, but the understanding that I knew very little and needed to find my 'key to Life' was a process. I understood a lot, but I wasn't happy. If contentment and fullfillment could be measured on a spetogram, mine would be all over the place! I've written the articles in this blog to help all those who are struggling with things in life, to help us understand what's important to us and to others, and to bring about fullfillment and contentment to the lives of as many people as possible. I'm not here to change the world. I'm here to change your mind, if you're struggling with life, and through our collective strength, to make the world a better place.

What is FourHundredPercent?

Think of the 80-20 rule. It's just like that, but it's 400-100. Wait, what? Ok, now that I have your attention, let's dive into it... The 80-20 rule implies that 80% of Results come from 20% Effort. That leaves the other 80% of Effort on the table to be wasted, and only producing a meager 20% Results. Still with me? Good. What if I told you that the other 80% of Effort didn't have to produce just a meager 20% of Results? What if I told you that each and every 20% of Effort could produce 80% of Results, just like the original equation? If I told you that, I would be Morpheus from the Matrix and you'd be Neo. You'd ponder the idea for a bit, question the math, but ultimately take the pill and we'd be off flying through a dystopian universe looking for our Purpose. But did I do that? No? Yes? Maybe....? Who cares, lets get back to the point. Behind Four Hundred Percent is the idea that every 20% of Effort can produce 80% of Results, and if you're good at simple math, you would realize that means 100% of Effort can produce 400% in Results. But how is this possible? Sure, the math works out, but how can we produce Results more than 100%? We do this by breaking through the societal assumption that everything is maxed at 100%, and begin by accepting the reality that Results, Success, Growth, and Personal Achievement are limitless. We achieve more than what we put in by realizing the maximum potential of every effort, and by using the synergies between every effort to multiply the Results. Still need help with the concept? What's faster, a person walking or a car? A car, of course. That was not a trick question. Again, what's faster, a person walking or a car with a flat tire? A person walking, of course. In this analogy, the flat-tire is like a un-used 20% Effort. What I'm trying to convey is that when we don't maximize the potential of each 20% of Effort, it's like we get a flat tire in our car. And that happens to everyone at some points in their life. But how do most of us react to the flat tire on the road? We slow down, pull over, and begin to look for ways to make up time. We wait for help to come. In life, this would feel something like this: We begin to settle, we start letting fear into our lives, and begin believing that walking is the fastest way forward. What I'm telling you is that if you're not achieving 400% Results yet, don't worry. There's plenty of time to find your purpose, to utilize each percentage of Effort to the maximum, and build the dream life. Remember, 100% IS NOT THE MAXIMUM, and flat tires are only permanent if you allow.
